Who am I? I am a lover of life! I wake up every day to relish in having a new
beginning. My passion is sharing how important our everyday attitudes are. As our attitude
goes, so goes our life. I have had the pleasure of experiencing much in life from traveling
throughout Europe, being a part of Toastmasters, to joining the UCLA pep squad as mascot,
Josephine Bruin, in the late 70’s during the John Wooden basketball dynasty.
I’m a lover of people! Being a high school English teacher, community college
professor, and First Lady in ministry, co-pastoring a small congregation with my husband,
has given me insights into what makes people tick and given me compassion for others. I have worn
many hats, (i.e.) wife, mother, teacher, and counselor.
I guess you could say I’m an optimist! I believe strongly that life is what you make it.
Educationally wise, I have obtained two master’s degrees, both in the field of education.

My latest book is entitled, BEING DETERMINED: How to be Relentless in Pursuing
Your Dreams in 15 Simple Ways. My goal in writing this book was to inspire and motivate us
all to get busy making our dreams come true. *Be steadfast *Increase your vision *Give it
your all *Make everything count, and *Decide to win are just five of the ways outlined in the
book. Each letter in the words “being” and “determined” form the chapter titles.
My book showcases real-life examples of people from all walks of life (some well known,
others, the guy or girl next door) who, against incomprehensible odds, succeed in
extraordinary endeavors to pursue a life of true joy and freedom.

I NEEDED this book!! It's a good KICK YOU IN THE BUTT (in a nice way). It's not a long
read but the "Ways" that Almond discusses can be life-changing.
Almond tells some great stories and introduces the reader to several wonderful people. She
motivates the readers to be relentless in following their dreams without being a cheerleader.
A good read if you need some focus in your life. Worth the time
Janice Almond's book will inspire you to be better. It will inspire you to enter the race,
relentlessly pursue your dream, remain committed even when trudging on seems impossible,
and get you on the path to small wins that lead to bigger wins and ultimately, success in
We all procrastinate, after all, but Janice Almond questions why, as well as giving
advice on what to do about it. I definitely feel as though I can apply a huge amount of the
advice that she has packed into this short and easy read into some of the situations that I have
in my life right now.
